First Day of Training, Maxima Empowers the Youth of West Sumbawa Regency

In preparing resilient and competitive young generations, PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara, in collaboration with Maxima Impact Consulting, launched the AMMAN Scholars Leadership Camp (ASLC) program. This initiative aims to support the leadership development of children in West Sumbawa Regency (KSB)—recipients of the AMMAN Scholars scholarship—over the course of one year, accompanying their growth process at several leading vocational schools in Kudus, Ponorogo, and Malang Regency.

As part of AMMAN Mineral’s investment in anticipating the challenges of globalization, Maxima strategically implements ASLC, which is more than just a scholarship program. ASLC is presented as a transformative platform that empowers scholarship recipients. In this program, students are encouraged to explore and realize their aspirations while designing effective strategies to achieve them. They are prepared to become individuals who not only possess competence and achievements but are also adaptable and resilient, capable of identifying and maximizing their self-efficacy, and driven to achieve the best results in reaching their goals (self-motivated).

In this third series of ASLC, the training took place in Semarang and Blitar. One of the main sessions during this training was “Leadership and Confidence,” delivered by Ferlita Sari, Psychologist, PCC, a psychologist, trainer, and coach. For the ASLC participants, who are still in their first year of vocational school, this was the right moment to encourage them to define their dreams. “The theme of this ASLC is enhancing Self-Motivation. After going through adaptation material in the December session, participants were introduced to self-identification and life goals. Now, they enter a new phase—building self-motivation to lead themselves wisely and manage their time effectively,” explained Salmaa Ramadhani, Project Manager of ASLC.

In the previous training, participants were invited to identify themselves and their life goals through an Individual Development Plan (IDP), a tool to optimize self-development in terms of capacity building, worship, education, and career. Based on the IDP results, the ASLC program held in Semarang on May 2-3, 2024, became the next phase in realizing the dreams of the youth in West Sumbawa Regency.

As a special agenda in this third ASLC, Maxima also invited AMMAN Scholars from the first and second cohorts—currently in their second and third years of vocational school—alongside the current third-cohort participants. The first and second cohorts had not received the ASLC training that the third cohort is currently undergoing. “Considering their stage of development, we believe that the material provided in this third ASLC is relevant to their current conditions,” said Salmaa.

The journey of the young generation from West Sumbawa Regency highlights the crucial role of education and character-building for youth. With programs like ASLC, the opportunity to develop more Indonesian youth capable of competing on a global level becomes increasingly apparent.
